September 30th 2001-This is my very first time seeing Cats live at the Golden Gate Theatre in San Francisco! (Though not the last).
I was very excited! Like I said, the stage was kind of small, but it was a wonderful production. During intermission, I went down to the stage. Old Deuteronomy was just sitting on the tire, very quietly, looking at everyone. (I think he was trying to act like a cat). I look through the doors in the side and saw people moving around. I saw Bombalurina. Her make-up was like Marlene Danielle's, (click here to see the style of make-up) not like the one in the video. She looked out and waved at me. It was cool. It's funny, 'cause when Gus was singing his ong, Bomby(the actress) was talking to Sillabub(Sara Schudde). It didn't look like it was apart of the play...
I finally got to see what "Growltiger's Last Stand" was like. It was funny. While he was singing for Griddlebone, she looked very bored. She looked at her nails, smiled, and then turned around and scratched him! The whole play (Growltiger's Last Stand) was just supposed to be funny.
I got a few pictures of the theatre (not the stage) and of ads outside of the theatre.
I did meet some of the cast and got their autographs! That was exciting. I met Jessica Lea Patty (Demeter)--she was sweet, Stan Stanley (Rum Tum Tugger)--He hugged me!!!!! I got hugged by Tugger!:), McCree O'Kelley (Mistoffelees), he was nice too (well, they all were) and William Hartery (Asparagus/Growltiger/Bustopher). William was an oldies type. He was wearing 50's clothes. He was also nice, though. He had people guess who he played before he would sign any autographs. I got pictures with all of them except William--everyone was already crowding him. Well, they were crowding Stan, too, but I HAD to get a picture with him! (I will post all photos later)

Jessica said that they were off to Portland, Oregon. If anyone is seeing them in Portland soon, I hope you enjoy it! She also said that we probably picked the best day (the last performance in San Francisco) because that's when they usually do their best---excited to move on.
I will definatly see Cats again--and hopefully get better seats! (I was in the Mezzanine-2nd floor). Rum Tum Tugger went off the stage and into the audience. Everyone was cheering. I wish so badly that I was down there (maybe next time), but I got to hug Tugger...so ha! Just kidding
